Business entrepreneur, social activist, and community advocate, Louis has served as past Minister of Economic Development & Tourism and Minister of Health for Métis Nation BC (2020-2024). In his 2nd term, Louis serves again as Minister of Economic Development & Partnerships, Associate Minister of Health & Wellness and MNBC’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ Council Provincial Chairperson.

Louis spent 9 years serving on the Board of Directors of Stó:lō Community Futures, has been a sessional instructor of Indigenous Studies (Chilliwack campus) at the University of the Fraser Valley, and sits on the Indigenous Advisory Board for UFV’s School of Business as well as the UFV Senate Committee on Indigenization. Louis also served as the Chair of MNBC’s first 2SLGBTQQIA+ Committee (2021-2024).

With a hospitality career that spans 35 years, the former Restaurant Owner (Bravo Restaurant & Lounge (2004-2016), 2015 Federal political candidate for Chilliwack-Hope, and 2018 candidate for Chilliwack city council completed his Executive master’s degree in business (EMBA) at Simon Fraser University with certification in Aboriginal Governance from the University of Arizona. His Executive master’s degree covers the philosophy of management, business communication, managerial and financial accounting, marketing management, entrepreneurship and scaling and growing businesses. Louis is a recipient of the Al McCracken Memorial Award for Provincial Volunteer of the Year in BC, and the RBC Entrepreneur Scholarship Award for business. Louis grew up in Winnipeg with ancestral ties to the Métis families of Sinclair, Norquay, Anderson, Monkman, Truthwaite and was also past-President, and Board Member of the Chilliwack Métis Association.
